Cattle

Danish Holstein

The black and white dairy cow is the most well-known and popular milk cow in Europe. Holstein is the dairy breed that produces the most milk on average. The cow has distinctive characteristics. The average weight for a Danish Holstein cow is 650 – 700 kg. At birth, calves can weigh around 30- 45 kg. Annual milk yield from 8,000 to 11,000 kg / year, content of protein 3.37%, fat content 4.04%. Cows with more than 14.000 kg. milk /year are common.

Jersey

The milk of a Jersey cow has the highest fat content of all the breeds. The cow weighs between 350-550 kg. A calf weighs 20-35 kg at birth. Jersey is usually cream-colored, bright or brown. Ribs and hips are clear, and the legs are short and stable. Over time Jersey has kept focus on a high production of butterfat and milk protein. Annual milk yield from 5000 to 8000 kg / year, protein content 4, 13 %, fat content 6, 5 %.

Red Danish Milk Breed

The strong side of the Red Danish Dairy Breed is high production of milk protein, strong cows, longevity and good reproduction. A Red Danish Dairy Cow is typically red or reddish-brown. A Red Danish Dairy Cow weighs between 500-650 kg. At birth, calves can weigh around 30- 45 kg. It has strong constitution. This breed can uses both as a milk and beef cattle. Annual milk yield 8000 - 9000 k g, protein content 3.52 %, fat content 4.2 %.

Charolais

Charolais cattle are one of the world's finest beef cattle. Charolais cattle are either white or a creamy-white color. The coat is long and slightly wavy during the winter, but sheds in the spring to reveal a short, smooth coat for the warmer months. They have a deep chest, broad body and strong, muscled hindquarters. Bulls can weigh up to 1150 kg and cows up to 900 kg.

Hereford

Herefords are generally docile and fast growing cattle with good beef quality. The Hereford is colored dark red to red-yellow, with a white face, crest, dewlap, and underline. Most animals have short thick horns that typically curve down at the sides of the head. Mature males may weigh up to 900 kg while mature females may weigh around 600 kg

Limousine

Limousin is typically a reddish-orange coloration with light highlights around the eyes and muzzle. Bulls are often very muscular. Live weight of Limousin cattle is around 800 kg, bulls tend to be a bit heavier. Limousin's are also known for their great calving ease, and also have good maternal qualities.

Angus

Angus cattle are a breed of cattle commonly used in beef production. They are naturally polled (do not have horns) and solid black or red. Today, you may find a fair number of herds with cows that may reach over 800 kg, and bulls weighing over 1300 kg, however, there are still other herds that have retained the smaller size.

Simmental

Simmentals are big animals, both cows and bulls are blocky-looking beasts. Most Simmentals have a white face with a brownish-red body. Cows often weigh anywhere from 550 kg to 850 lbs; Bulls can weigh from 750 kg to 1300 kg.
